Top-5 Western Maine Waterfalls You Must Visit

#1 – Smalls Falls (Phillips)

This is in our opinion the best waterfall in Western Maine. Smalls Falls is located at the Smalls Falls Rest Area in Phillips, Maine. The bottom of the waterfall is a few short steps from the parking area and picnic tables. However, there is a 0.5 mile hike along the falls to see my stages and pools of the waterfalls.

In the warmer summer months you can swim at the waterfall. Smalls Falls has swimming wholes for many different levels of swimmer, including some that you have to jump in from a good height and need a rope to climb back out.

We visited in August and was perfect, but can only imagine the falls in the spring.
